Course information

Mare Terra Coffee Institute’s Barista Foundation course is designed to give you a basic and practical understanding of the role of the barista in the world of speciality coffee. Our aim is that, upon completion, you will be able to identify a quality coffee, recognise its distinctive characteristics and prepare a perfect cup of coffee. In addition, you will learn the most advanced coffee preparation techniques and how to make a perfect extraction using different semi-automatic espresso machines from renowned brands such as La Marzocco, Iberital, Dalla Corte, Rocket and Ascaso, accompanied by Mazzer and Compak grinders. During the practical part, you will have the opportunity to experiment directly with the machines and learn about the different coffee preparation techniques. This course will also immerse you in coffee culture and teach you about the importance of coffee at origin and the latest coffee trends. You will get to know coffee culture in depth, both globally and in Spain.

Can I become SCA certified?
