Course information

The Brew Foundation training serves as an introduction to drip extraction methods and the understanding of the variables that will allow us to develop a perfect infusion coffee. Our goal with this course is for you to be able to control all the variables that influence the preparation of a drink and that you can extract the best results for different extraction methods.

For the practices we have Best Brew equipment which includes the following coffee makers: Chemex, V60, Syphon, Aeropress, French Press, Cold Brew and Clever.

• Coffee botany. Plants, species, and specific information.
• Processing and drying techniques.
• Specialty coffee: quality.
• Coffee preparation: factors affecting extraction.
• Coffee vs water relationship. Ratios and water characteristics.
• Types of grinding.
• Infusion temperature and contact time.
• Water turbulence and coffee particles.
• Extraction process for different methods.

For the course, a dossier with the necessary syllabus will be given to the student, and a certificate of completion will be given when it ends.
